EA Tells Epic Games “I always liked you more than Take-Two, and I wanna be more than just friends”

EA Logo
So that thing with Take-Two didn’t work out huh, well there’s always more fish in the sea, and it looks like EA may have another one on it’s hook. Word on the street (from gameguru) states that EA is looking to gobble up Epic Games in an effort to win back the hearts and minds of the hardcore gamer.

Now gameguru may not have the best grammar or the most trustworthy sources however the fact that EA recently struck a deal with People Can Fly (an in-house studio belong to none other than Epic Games) only strengthens their claims.

Along with the claims of the Epic buyout, gameguru also indicates that EA would like to get it’s hands on Unreal 4.0 and furthermore to that, be the exclusive developer for it. Yes, that means that the next Gears of War (not 2 but 3, and why wouldn’t they), Brothers in Arms, BioShock, Mass Effect, and potentially Duke Nukem Forever (they could switch to this engine, you never know) would be EA developed. Of course that means that they would have to decide to stay with the Unreal Engine.

While EA may be as big as it’s ever going to get, I’ll let you know if and when I hear more.

Rumor Mill: Wii Successor to Hit Shevles in 2011

They dubbed it Wii HD. HD = High Definition Graphics.

What, you thought Nintendo wasn’t gonna go there? According to “sources” that have seen a presentation on the next Wii (keep in mind that this next step is going to be akin to the NES going to the SNES as opposed to the SNES going to the N64, in other words, much of everything is staying the same, however it will have better graphics), it will include High Definition graphics, a larger storage medium of either a hard drive or a much larger flash memory, and tweaked controllers. While it is not said whether or not they will use Blu-Ray they have stated that they would like to implement full backwards compatibility (the Wii optical discs currently use regular DVD standards).

While not much more is known on this Wii HD, I’ll keep you posted on what happens.

EA Cancels Command & Conquer FPS After Realizing That Game Already Exists

Tiberium Tombstone

Okay, so not many of you may remember the 2002 game Command & Conquer: Renegade but it was CNC’s first, and so far only, foray into the FPS genre. That was about to change in 2009 with EA’s Tiberium (it would’ve been the first game without the Command and Conquer prefix), a first person shooter based in 2058, about 11 years after the third Tiberium war. In a statement released by EA on Tuesday, it was revealed that the reason for the cancellation was due to poor quality.

Here is the full statement of it’s cancellation by EA’s Mariam Sughayer:

EA has suspended work on Tiberium effective immediately.

The game was not on track to meet the high quality standards set by the team and by the EA Games Label. A lower quality game is not in the best interest of the consumers and would not succeed in this market.

This decision will result in some individuals being released. However, EA will make every effort to place talented people on other projects. Eligible employees will receive severance and outplacement support.

EA Los Angeles is home to several units of the company including EA Mobile, EA Casual Entertainment Headquarters, EA’s Global Online group and others. At the EA Games Label studio in that facility, developers there are creating Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, a series of titles in development with Steven Spielberg, and other games which have not yet been announced.”

While I certainly would hope that EA reconsiders another title in the CNC FPS realm, we still have something to tide us over.

Pandora Open Source Gaming Thingamajig up for Pre-Orders: Dozens Jump For Joy

Pandora
Pandora’s open source, Linux running, QWERTY keyboard packing, dual analog stick containing, 800×480 4.3″ touchscreen having machine finally is available from GBAX. While some of you may be questioning the $329.99 price point that costs approximately $130 more than something that is better that is actually made for games, the fact that it runs Linux and a host of other free programs and games is a little tantalizing, even moreso with the touchscreen. If you want to find out more about the Pandora you can visit their website here

Welcome to the First DemonCoffee Review!

We assume the first post we can go ahead and let our future fans know a little

BLAH BLAH BLAH! This will be filled with useless info, but here it goes.

I was born in 1984 in Norman, Oklahoma (Go Sooners!), and have been into
electronics as long as I can remember. My parents owned a bar and two doors
down was an electronics repair shop that my little brother (he’s only 2 years
younger then me) and I used to hang at, and also next door was Toto’s Pizza :D.

I grew up on the original Atari that my dad bought my bro and I one day and,
grew up on pitfall. A couple years later my kick ass uncle bought us a NES,
and we never stopped playing the thing. We played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
(all of them) but my brother still loves the Arcade one the best. I enjoyed
Dokie Dokie Panic! a.k.a. “Super Mario Brothers 2.”

After my family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, my brother and I started on the
N64, and the Playstation systems. We got our kicks from Syphon Filter, Metal Gear,
Gran Turismo 1 and 2, Mario 64, Perfect Dark 64, Goldeneye 64, and the unfortunate
Aerogauge.
It was also in Kansas City that I got my kicks checking out computers, and working
with them, although only in middle school, they were getting rid of some old Apple I’s
and I got a hold of it and ended up playing Lemmings, and when the HDD finally crapped
out I took the computer apart and looked inside.

My family later moved to Springfield, Ohio where I began my true interest in computers.
I bought my first brand new computer, a Gateway flex, and it was my first one that I
ended up modding (just swapping out the DVD-ROM drive that is still in my current computer,
with a CD burner).

After graduating from Springfield North High School, I moved to Erie, Pennsylvania for
a higher education of schooling at Gannon University. I was originally “Undecided” but
I chose pychology, then it changed to engineering, which I was getting bored with because
the classes were things I had learned in high school with Mr. “Chappy” Chapman.
I later changed to Computer and Information Sciences with a minor in Liberal Arts(Studies).
Also during college I was officially introduced to Dance Dance Revolution, and played it once
a week for 3 hour or so, now I’m down to about once a month.

I later quit Gannon with approximately a year left of schooling, and went to work in a
retail position, working with electronics as much as possible to keep up to date the
newest happenings of the world of technology

During this time I built my 1st and 2nd 100% custom built computer(s). Both running
AMDs and Nvidia graphics. The first was a Socket A Athlon XP, and the latter is now a Opteron 939.
The first Nvidia was a FX series, and now I am running a pair of 7600GT KO’s and further
OC’ed myself.

I am currently working on my 3rd build working around the Socket AM2 or AM2+ and still
Nvidia, either a later 8 Series (88xx GT or GTX) or a later 9 Series.

You can currently find me trolling the pwned.com ShoutBox, Facebook, and Myspace.

I am attempting to save monies and attend Fullsail hopefully by the end of the summer, or
at least the end of the year.

Oh, No! You have walked into the slavering fangs of a lurking grue

If you understand that, then this is the start of a beautiful friendship, if not, tis ok
not everybody is a big of a geek as me.

I started gaming really early, playing such games as Sam and Max, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and
many more Point and Click adventures, which were my favorite. I didn’t really get into console gaming until
the N64 came out. Sleepless nights of Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, and Super Smash Bro’s soon followed. Fast forward to May 2008, and my life is filled with sleepless nights of GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, and yes, still Battlefield 2.

I enjoy motorcycling, gaming, watching sports, all the guy stuff I guess. If you want to get to know me better
you can read my pwned profile, and can also reach me at y2k1994 on aim.
